Maybe you have been lately diagnosed with pre diabetes. I am convinced that this kind of question has being popping into your head. Therefore diets and exercises are two primary keys to controlling your diabetes.

Therefore Are You obese?

The diabetes type 2 is everywhere. And, if you do not control your weight and your diet at this time then your pre diabetes condition could turn into total Type 2 diabetes.

The majority of type 2 diabetes victims are overweight. So it only stands to reason, that if you get your weight controlled, you will have a better chance of keeping your pre diabetes controlled.

As you are creating a plan for weight loss, you have to remember that you are creating a food plan for life and not a short lived diet plan.

By means of making these permanent changes in your food choices, your body will be able to have control over your blood glucose levels.

What I Should Be Eating

*Eat fatty fish like mackerel salmon, tuna or sardines at least 3 times in a week. In case if this is not achievable then add a pure omega 3 fish oil supplement in your diet.

*Eat whole grains like whole wheat, brown rice and soy that has not been genetically modified. Please stay away from white pasta, white rice and any type bread product which includes pastries and cakes made with processed and refined white wheat.

*Select the most colorful fruits and vegetables like berries, broccoli, peppers, tomatoes, carrots, red bell spinach etc and keep away from starchy vegetables like sweet potatoes, corn, potatoes and peas.

*Go for fruits and vegetables as snacks.

Keep away from all processed and high sugar snack foods like ice cream, chips, cakes and cookies.

*Select low fat and low salt dairy products. Stay away from full fat or high salt yogurts and cheeses.

*Go for lean cuts of meat and take away the skin before cooking or eating.

*There is need to choose water as your main beverage. Keep away from fruit juices, soda and any other sweetened drink.

*You have to prepare your foods by steaming, baking or broiling. Keep away from all types of fried foods.

Obesity and Daily Calories

Haven’t you ever wondered why some people are naturally overweight while other people can remain skinny while eating twice as much?

The truth is that your total “daily calories” is not the deciding factor in whether you’re overweight or skinny.

You see, there are 3 main types of calories that you can eat each day.

First, there is protein…

Next, there are carbohydrates (carbs)…

And finally there are fat calories…

The truth is that your body doesn’t pay attention to how many daily calories are eaten, but rather your body pays attention to how much of EACH TYPE of calorie that you consume.

For example, if you eat too many sugar based calories (sugar is common in fat free foods) then your body won’t be able to use all of those sugar calories, and the excess calories will be stored as fat tissue.

This can happen even if you didn’t eat very many daily calories, because if you eat too many “wrong” calories then you’ll get fat.  This is why many obese people remain overweight their whole lives even though they eat less than some of their skinny friends and family members.

…And it doesn’t have to be this way, because even though it’s true that some people have slower metabolisms (and suffer from obesity) they can still get just as skinny as their friends if they just learn to EAT THE RIGHT TYPES OF CALORIES EACH DAY.

You see, your body needs protein, carbs and fat calories too.  Your body needs all 3 types of calories, but it does not need them all in the same proportions at every meal.

Certain types of fat calories can speed up weight loss believe it or not, while other types of “fat free foods” will actually make you overweight if you eat them too often.

Why else do you think that losing weight is so difficult?  Why else do you think that our society is suffering from a serious obesity problem which is getting worse?

It’s because the ANSWER to weight loss is the OPPOSITE of what most people think.  Most average people have been brought up to believe that eating “fat” is bad and that eating “fat free foods” is healthy.

That may “seem” logical at first, but in reality the opposite is often true.  Eating “fat” does not automatically turn to fat tissue on your body, and eating “fat free” does not automatically cause weight loss to happen either.

To begin losing weight you must realize this fact and open your mind to a new way of dieting.

If you want to lose weight fast then you must learn to eat foods which have fat burning properties, and these are foods which keep your blood sugar level more stable throughout the day.

You see, if you eat foods which cause your blood sugar level to spike upwards too sharply then you’ll feel “energetic” for a short while — but then afterwards your blood sugar level will drop way too low and you’ll feel tired and lethargic for the rest of the day.

The higher your blood sugar rises after a meal, then the lower it will drop afterward.  …And when it drops you’ll feel tired and hungry all over again.  This is why obese people often suffer from “highs and lows” in their energy level.

But if you begin eating fat burning foods (which keep your blood sugar level stable throughout the day) then your energy will be steady all day long, you’ll have plenty of energy and you won’t ever feel tired of lethargic.

Also, when your blood sugar level is kept stable then your body’s natural fat burning engine will begin burning more fat tissue.  That’s why these are called “fat burning foods”.

A Cure For Obesity

Here comes a relief and good news for the people suffering from obesity. Their dream of losing their extras of kilos can be achieved. A recent research has revealed that the gut hormone can be brought into use in future for the treatment of obesity. It’s virtue of minimizing the appetite proves helpful to the people suffering from obesity to lose oodles of weight and also bring the blood pressure under control. A group of scientists belonging to the University of Copenhagen conducted some analysis that comprised of twenty five (25) clinical examinations that involved around 6,000 patients to test the efficacy of this treatment. It was discovered that the patients who were treated with appropriately measured installments of doses for duration of twenty (20) weeks lost the minimum of seven (7) lbs. These results were much better than of those who lost weight by control methods.

There were normal side effects like nausea, diarrhea and vomiting.

But this did not stop people from continuing with these trials, which marked the success of this treatment. The patients seemed satisfied and looked forward to more of it as per the researchers.

The Chairman at the National Obesity Forum, Dr. David Haslam, on facing one of the interviews with Daily Express informed them that this treatment has been a success by far. He has been treating his patients with it. This treatment has also seemed as a blessing to some of the patients as they managed to lose four stones and bring down the levels of blood sugar and got them under controlled levels for the very first time.

The scientists have suggested that this hormone should be treated on the patients suffering from obesity as well as diabetes.

He asked for further researches and trials to be conducted on people who are not diabetic as well.

Are There Any Healthy Diet Shakes?

Healthy diet shakes can be a great way to boost your intake of valuable fruits, vegetables, and many other beneficial ingredients. However, if you’re not careful you could end up spending too much time in preparation, getting ingredients you don’t want, and/or paying too much.

One thing I recently experimented with was making up a large batch to freeze some individual servings to save time. I was worried that it might get gloppy or gross. It worked really well actually. So that’s one easy way to overcome time constraints. While I rarely have a shake myself, I have done a lot of research into the various mixes because my husband likes to have them as extra meals. He’s one of those sickening people that consistently works out so hard that he actually has to worry about getting enough calories and protein.

As you may guess, I am not a proponent of most of the so-called healthy diet shake products on the market that are supposed to be all inclusive and you can conveniently throw a scoop in liquid, stir, and drink.

Most of them have an inordinate amount of sugar and worse, preservatives that will inhibit the likelihood of weight loss.

However, I have found a few products that I feel comfortable recommending. I personally feel Garden of Life is one of the best. They actually have several different mixes and I think they are all pretty good for you. Then, the downside, of course, is they don’t taste so great. If you include a lot of fresh fruit, that will help the flavor and aid you in getting several servings at once.

Hemp protein is another one that I’ve found to be healthy. But again, it’s green and gritty, so, same issues as before. You do grow accustomed to this, though.

It’s not that big of a deal.

I’ve recently found another company, Jay Robbs, that offers a more natural version of a “Muscle Milk” style shake mix. He’s got natural sweeteners and avoids several bad ingredients. Jay Robbs’ does cost slightly more than the others, I think. My one issue with Jay Robbs mix is that it’s an isolated protein, not a “whole food” supplement. I prefer a whole food because I just think that’s how our body was set up to absorb nutrients, but if you can’t stomach the super-green mixes, this would be a good alternative.

The nice thing about these healthy diet shake mixes is you are getting a lot of other very healthful components for weight loss and overall wellness that your diet may otherwise lack. The Garden of Life varieties usually have some little known seeds that have a lot of healthy fats as well as a number of greens of which you doubtless would not normally partake. The hemp proteins generally have a number of healthful amino acids, which may be hard to come by unless you use Bragg’s Liquid Aminos. Bragg’s tastes like soy sauce except that it’s actually good for you. Look for it in your grocery store’s health food section. I use it as a substitute for salt in a lot of meals.

Dealing with Childhood Obesity?

According to Merriam Webster online (m-w.com), obesity is defined as “a condition characterized by the excessive accumulation and storage of fat in the body.” And most of us know that this is the basic definition. But what does it mean to be obese? And what can you do about it for yourself and your children?

In recent years, stories of obesity rates rising around the world are common on news broadcasts. We hear about morbid obesity in adults and shocking childhood obesity rates. For many of us, these statistics are eye opening. We do not want our children to go through the emotional and physical tolls associated with being extremely overweight. So, what do we do about it?
Take action – a simple statement to be sure, but the most important start for change. If you and your children are obese, you must decide to make a change. In order to help our children become fit, we must lead by example.

Take the initiative because your lives are worth it.

Find a local obesity center, where a doctor or trained nutritionist can help you and your child set up a program to change your lifestyle. Meeting with health professionals is important so that they can monitor your progress and help you be sure that your program is effective for you and your child. Remember, a growing child has different requirements than you do nutritionally. For this reason, you need to plan their healthy diet accordingly.

Doctors should also be involved because of the health risks that obesity poses. Those who are obese run great risk of heart problems, high cholesterol, diabetes, and other major illnesses. Your doctor should monitor you throughout your efforts to lose weight to be sure that you are improving these issues rather than putting yourself or your child in danger.
Finally, get moving.

Again, your doctor needs to be advised of any physical activities that you take on- but do not let that stop you from finding a way to get in some exercise. Even if your first attempt is just a walk around the block – keep it up. The fun you will have with your children coupled with the adrenaline you will feel after getting your blood flowing will be all the motivation you need to walk a little farther tomorrow.

Obesity is a complicated issue that requires time and patience to treat. However, there is hope. You don’t have to look far to find some inspiring success stories from everyday people and celebrities explaining how they overcame their weight issues. Now, it’s your turn.

My weight goes up: If you have this problem you can reverse it say Science

If you are one of the many people saying “My weight goes up” science has recently revealed why this happens and how you can change this. Studies reveal that dieting with no fat or no carbs is actually not a good way to lose weight. The reason is that the weight loss is fake. It is mainly water weight that returns in a short while. This is one of the main reasons diets do not work. Those who have tried every diet in the book will usually come back looking the same as before the diet in a short. You are found saying “My weight goes up” once again

Do not feel bad this is what almost all diets do. Research has revealed that there is a way to finally get rid of bad weight and basically eat fat, carbs and proteins. When you stop fat you actually get fat. Studies show that low fat is one of the worst ways to try and lose weight. The low fat diets have never caused people to get thin.

It sounds good “low fat” but it does not work. The low carbs diets have been doing damage to the brain.

Studies show that those on low carbs will have a hard time concentrating. The reason for this is that low carbs deprives the brain of fuel that it needs for concentrating. Those on low carbs at work often feel tired and have a heard time studying or getting through the day. If you are one of the many saying “my weight goes up” it is due to food chemicals.

Science has discovered when a diabetes diet that included sugar, fat, carbs was used people were getting normal weight. Weight problems were disappearing. This worked even in non diabetics.

The diet worked because it did something that researchers have discovered that most diets do not do.

It healed the “cause” of the weight gain problems. It makes sense, as the diet healed the Type 2 diabetes it also healed the food chemicals problem that causes most weight gain. My weight goes up is a sign that the body needs healing not the removing of fat, carbs or calories.
